As some of you know I got stuck in Cambodia for an extra ten days. It was on my way to Laos. Basically it was easier and cheaper to get a flight there and then get one from Cambodia to Laos. Long story short I was refused access to my plane towards Thailand. I had a layover in Thailand and then was supposed to go to Laos. Since Laos is finally starting to open up there is not a lot of planes going there. So the best flight with the least amount of problems was ten days later.

I will say it was all very frustrating. I had worked so hard for months to get my teaching certificate, get the necessary paperwork for Laos and work to save up. Laos felt like a far off dream and I started to wonder if I was ever going to get there.

I made a friend while I was staying at one of the hostels and he suggested I go to Siem Reap. A different part of Cambodia. I got to see Ankor Wat and ride a motor bike for the first time.

Most of my time in the hostel world I met people from Australia, or the UK. I never expected that most of my Gospel conversations in Cambodia would not be with Cambodians. I got to have very clear english conversations with people who have never heard the Gospel in such a loving and relationship oriented way.

As I was thinking about my time in Cambodia, I came to realize what a party environment it really was in the hostel world there. I also started to wonder what it would look like if people in the US would save up money for travel and build relationships with people in hostels. These other travelers in the hostels would be bringing back the Gospel to their different nations, all over the world. I also realized that had been a large part of my ministry with the World Race last year. Now I have connections all over the world with fellow travelers who I may get to see at other times, or some may come and see me in Laos and we still get to pour into each other. Church, what if ministry has so many different formats that you don’t have to be doing ministry the right way, but the Christlike way that goes into dark places and seeks the lost. Pray and ask God what this looks like.

So, a little update. I am in Laos! Finally! Praise God! Please pray as I learn the language that I will fall in love with the language, the people and the culture. Also, that my lips would be anointed and I will learn the language at the speed God intends. I love you!!!
