So, here is a sneak peek into a random day on the Race…
We (what I mean is my team and I) decided to hike 14 miles for a day here in Mestia, Georgia.
We rolled out of bed and were out the door at 8:30am, after a hardy breakfast from our hostal host. She makes the best food. We were very grateful for that food as the calories burned quick on the steep incline.
It started off as a cool day and we had great attitudes. Don’t worry, those attitudes stayed consistent.
At the halfway lookout, we had some cool Gospel convos, with our fellow hikers. We left the lookout and continued taking in the stunning beauty of the Caucasus Mountains.
When I got to the top I took a nap. I was really tired. When my friends got there we continued to chill for a while, knowing we had a long way down.
As we descended to the halfway lookout, we continued to have really cool gospel convos with people we met.
On the way down we continued hyping each other up, and praying for out ankles, as it was very steep.
When we finally got to a store, my teammate started talking to a family. We found out they were believers and they were on their way to find their daughter, who left after they adopted her. What a crazy story!!!!! We prayed for them and got contact info.
We then went to dinner, hitchhiked to our guesthouse, and crashed. Some of my teammates were so loving that they stayed up to play Uno with the kids of the family we were staying with.
Just a day in the life of a racer. Full of craziness, flexibility and open hands to what God has for them.
Love-Elizabeth
